→ Garnishes

10 - 1/4 cup sour cream
11 - Salsa or guacamole for serving (optional)

# How-To Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Arrange tortilla chips in a mini muffin tin, forming cup shapes with one chip per cup.
02 - Sprinkle both cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses evenly into each chip cup.
03 - Add black beans, cherry tomatoes, olives, jalapeño slices if using, and red onion on top of the cheese in each cup.
04 - Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
05 - Remove from oven and cool for a couple of minutes. Top each cup with a small dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
06 - Serve warm with salsa or guacamole on the side if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Each cup is a perfect bite-sized portion so no double-dipping concerns
  • The cheese gets all melty and contained in the chip instead of sliding off onto the pan
  • You can customize toppings for each cup if youre feeding picky eaters
02 -
  • Work quickly once these come out of the oven or the cheese starts to set and the toppings become harder to distribute
  • Overfilling the cups seems tempting but leads to toppings spilling onto the pan during baking
03 -
  • Warm your tortilla chips in the oven for 3 minutes before filling them so they get extra crispy
  • Mix the two cheeses together before sprinkling to ensure even distribution in each cup
