# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The combination of hot savory filling against cool crisp lettuce creates this perfect temperature contrast that wakes up your palate
  • You can assemble everything ahead and let people build their own wraps, which makes entertaining feel effortless
02 -
  • Do not skip washing and thoroughly drying the lettuce leaves because any water will make the wraps soggy and they will not hold together well
  • Let the mushroom filling cool slightly before assembling so the lettuce stays crisp and does not wilt from the heat
03 -
  • If the lettuce leaves are separating or cracking, try letting them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before assembling because cold leaves can be brittle
  • Cast iron or well-seasoned woks create better flavor development than nonstick pans because the mushrooms can develop a nice golden sear
